Inside the Experience
Mr Chobys Restaurant, nestled in the heart of San Luis Río Colorado, Sonora, stands out as a beacon for seafood and steak lovers alike. This cozy yet beautifully decorated spot offers an authentic coastal dining experience, where fresh ingredients meet expert preparation to create memorable flavors.
The true highlight here is the grilled octopus—tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, as many patrons, including myself, have delightfully experienced. The menu brims with enticing options like the ceviche-laden Tostada Chiquiona, shrimp cocktails, and savory fish dishes topped with rich chipotle cream sauce. Each bite reveals a balance of freshness and depth, showcasing the kitchen's skill in seafood mastery.
Service at Mr Chobys is warm and attentive, delivering a family-friendly and romantic ambiance that welcomes all visitors. While English may not be the primary language spoken by the staff, their accommodating nature bridges any communication gaps smoothly. The restaurant also features a full bar, offering ice-cold beers and flavorful drinks, though some guests note the margaritas lean on the saltier side.
Cleanliness and atmosphere play their part in making every visit enjoyable. Though parking space is limited, the charm and quality of the food more than compensate. Whether you're in the mood for fresh seafood, well-prepared steaks, or a relaxed meal accompanied by great music, Mr Chobys Restaurant consistently delivers a satisfying experience that keeps locals and visitors coming back.
“ The Octopus is so good. I had never had it cooked the way they did it. Very tender. Too much salt in the margaritas, but had a great flavor if you could get past the salt. I could not switched to a bottle of beer it was ice cold. Servers didn't speak English but were very accommodating. ”
“ I got to say this place is well decorated it feels cozy and beautiful. The dishes are really good flavor is on top! Tried tostada de atún and octopus taco... so good. I really recommend this place. ”
“ Everything on the menu looks delicious! I had a shrimp cocktail and a Tostada Chiquiona, which had ceviche, shrimp, octopus, and avocado. My husband had fried fish stuffed with shrimp topped with a savory chipotle cream sauce. Everything was delicious! ”
“ I love that place. Pleasant employees. They're very nice, great service. Romantic, cosy, family environment whichever you prefer. Handicap restroom. Individual restrooms. Wonderful sea food menu, full bar, music. The only thing I didn't like was that it has a very small parking area for that kind of establishment with the quality and quantity of customers. ”
“ Great food, very attentive staff. Beer is a little to cold, not really! I ate very slowly, I didn't want it to all be gone. ”
